Three Times A Pimpin'

I want everyone to know that I have been featured in the Blog Herald's 100 Blogs in 100 Days segment not once, not twice, but three times on days 19, 38 and 96. Yes, I am that good. I guess they're not keeping a very good tab on their list over at the Blog Herald, but hey, I'm not complaning!

Death by LEGO

This LEGO business is really getting out of control. But I suppose there really is no end to what you can do with LEGO, so as long as they keep making it, I'll keep blogging it. The LEGO Suicides is a set of pictures on Flickr of various casualties of LEGO. I wonder what the conversation that lead to this project sounded like.

Death Dance Revolution

Generally I find that things that go on in my real, non-blog-related life aren't of great interest to my readers so I tend not to write about them, but I felt like this was an experience I wanted to share with all of you. Last week I ventured to play the arcade version of Dance Dance Revolution for the first time ever. I was nervous and tentative at first but I finally worked up the nerve to do it. It was fast and furious and I sucked but I had fun. And then I almost collapsed on the floor but I am certainly a better person for the experience. Thanks to Megan and Alejandro for helping me document the event with photos and for laughing at me.

Now I'm just like Madonna...

...kind of.

Karma Karma Brad Pitt

Now you all know that celebrity gossip is not my schtick - I normally leave that sort of thing to the pros like Trent and Jared. But this was too funny to pass up, especially with the picture montage and all. The Superficial has put forth a theory that Brad Pitt is a chameleon, adapting his look to his girlfriend/wife of the moment. I have to say that in light of these pictures, it would be difficult to refute that theory.

You Got Owned By A Bunch of Preschoolers

A bunch of preschoolers were asked "In which direction is the bus pictured below traveling?”, the only possible answers being "left" or "right."

They all answered "left." When asked why, they said because you can't see the door. And suddenly you feel pretty dumb. You and me both.

Unmentianimals

Unlike all those naked animals we see shamelessly prancing around out there, at least these animals have the decency to cover up...a little. Almost Naked Animals is a collection of drawings by Noah Z. Jones of animals in their undies. Boxers, bras, tighty whities and other unmentionables: they're all here. Check back every once in a while to see the Animal of The Month.

Thanks again to Tirade Parade for this link. Keep em coming!

Hansa Good Idea

Hansa is a German design company with a neat idea for faucets. Other than having awesome design to begin with, their Hansacanyon line of faucets is equipped with LEDs that colour the water to indicate its temperature: red for hot, blue for cold and purply-pink for somewhere in between. Must look awesome in the dark too.

Tiny Pictures of Big Things

Check out these pictures tiny models by photographer Olivo Barbieri from his project Site Specific. Don't they look real? That's cause they are! Ha ha! See how I did that? How I got you thinking one thing then I blindsided you with another? Clever, no? That's why I have a blog. Anyway, these are photos of actual places taken with a special fancy camera lens from the vantage point of a hellicopter. Neat-o, huh?

Original Orisinal

Uh-oh. I've really gone and done it this time. Orisinal is a great collection of over fifty weally cute little point'n'click games, complete with an incredibly pleasing pastel colour palette and the most adorablest aminals you ever did see. Pile up the pigs so they can reach the cupcake in These Little Pigs, smack the little crabs with your yo-yo in Cranky Crabs or slide the monkeys down the pole while avoiding the bombs in Monkeyslide. They're all incredibly pleasing to the clicker finger and perfect for when you only have time for a quickie.

The Creatures In His Head

The Creatures In My Head is a collection of drawings of little creatures from the head of Andrew Bell. These guys are super cute and you can vote on how much you like each of them.

Plus he drew this really funny picture of a dead Pacman and some guilty looking ghosts. Awesome.

Glory Glory Hallelegoh

Now I know I've already shown you the Brick Testament (the bible in LEGO), a LEGO rollercoaster and a LEGO version of Escher's Relativity, but I really hope you're not all LEGOed-out cause those seem like a piece of Jesus cracker compared to this one. Amy Hughes has created the Abston Church of Christ out of approximately 75,000 pieces of LEGO and dedicated the project to the loving memory of her cat Precious. No seriously. She's even written a sermon. For her church. Made of LEGO. But religious devotion aside, this project is incredible. She has posted a whole bunch of pictures of it on her site, and rightfully so. The level of detail that she's gone into to make this church just blows my mind.

Sketch-A-Man

Invisibilia, part of Greg Stekelman's site The Man Who Fell Asleep, is a collection of photographs were one person is digitally removed and replaced by a sketch of that person? Get it? Sounds like nothing, and it probably isn't, then again nothing on this blog is really anything, but the result is pretty neat. What does Greg have to say about his Invisibilia project?

Yeah, I know: anyone can trace a drawing. But so what? I am doing it, and you're not. You're sitting at home doing nothing. Or maybe you're surfing the web at work. I don't know. I'm not psychic.

That is so true. He even offers a tutorial to teach you how to make your very own invisibilia pictures.

24 Hours in Real Life

24 Hours on Craigslist is a documentary film about the everyday people in the San Francisco area who use Craigslist. Shot on August 4th, 2003, 8 film crews followed certain Craigslist users on their quest for, well whatever it was they were after.

An Ethel Merman drag queen searches for the perfect backup band for her Led Zeppelin covers. A suburban professional woman assembles a diabetic cat support group. A couple seeks the perfect rabbi for their marriage. A would-be mother finds her ideal sperm donor. Doors for sale, one night stands, compulsive roomates, transsexual erotic services.

The film is out in select (extremely select) theaters now and will be released on DVD in the Spring. It's like reading Missed Connections, only in real life and stuff.
