NESsed To Impress

Hey kids! Who's up for some retro-fun? Me neither but here it is anyway! It's really reassuring to know people are putting their efforts into making the world a better place - like Brandon from Milk My Cow. He managed to cram the guts of a DVD player into the skin of an original Nintendo Entertainment System. And the kicker is that it actually works! The "On" button of the NES actually turns the DVD player on and a remote control is used for everything else, including opening and closing the tray. The best thing is you don't have to blow on the DVDs to make them work. Woohoo!

In other NES nostalgia-related news, even though the old-school remote won't work on the DVD player, it will work as...wait for it...a belt buckle! NESBuckle.com sells these retrotastic gems at a cool $30US a piece. Awesome! The F.A.Q. resolve any questions or concerns you might have, including "My boyfriend totally made one of these like 6 years before you, you guys are dumb!"

If anyone feels compelled to buy me one of these items, please feel free.

Sharelle! I must say, I most often think that blogging is a strange, weird and slightly narcissistic phenomenon. However, you have the BEST blog on the internet. I'm not kidding about this! Seriously, your posts rock :)! Thanks for entertaining and distracting me!

Cheers,
Liz

p.s. Seeing the Nintendo set has made very nostalgic. I so miss the days of Super Mario and Tetrus...
