$100 Laptop (Not For You Though)

Director of MIT Media Lab Nicholas Negroponte has begun research to develop a $100 Laptop. The goal is to create something reasonably affordable and accessible to children in developping countries. The laptops will be ditributed through an initiative called One Laptop per Child by the end of 2006 or early 2007. The laptops will be completely functional and will even feature a hand crank for places where there isn't a reliable energy source. Very. Good. Idea.
